Protection sits on Windows workstations and on the servers that run the business software. A Mac in the company network is considered, not claimed to run a Windows agent that does not belong there. This does not create a night shift.

What we do

  • One product instead of leftovers

Old scanners, expired trials and a second agent that blocks the first one are removed. What remains is a managed install.

  • Servers and workstations

The file server and the PCs that run the business application are both included. Protection only on the newest laptop is not enough.

  • Alerts someone reads

Findings and failed updates go to a role address. The console is not red only when somebody happens to sign in.

  • Exceptions with a reason

An application that cannot tolerate a scan gets a named exception, not protection switched off for the whole device.

  • Recovery after a finding

A flagged device is taken off the network, checked and brought back in order. We do not recommend keeping on working on a suspicion.

Technologies and solutions

  • Managed agent

Install and updates from a console, not from a setup link in an old mail.

  • Windows servers and clients

The same family of policies, adjusted for servers that must not reboot casually.

  • Microsoft 365

Mail protection and multi-factor sign-in belong with it when the inbox is the usual way in.

  • Exceptions and paths

Only the folders or processes the business-software vendor requires.

  • Alert routes

Console plus a role mailbox, read Monday to Friday.

What you gain

  • One view

You can see which devices are protected and which refuse updates.

  • Less homemade protection

Staff stop installing whatever a search offered first.

  • Servers stay bootable

Policies for a server differ from those for a workstation that may reboot.

  • A finding has a sequence

Isolate, check, return. Not “ignore it because the application would stop”.

Typical problems

  • Three products on one PC

They block each other, and none of them is current.

  • The server without an agent

Fear of a reboot left the file server unprotected, exactly where the files are.

  • Alerts to a private address

That person has left, and the console keeps running.

  • Exceptions without end

Half the disk is excluded and nobody knows why.

How we work

  1. 1

    Advice

We count devices, products already installed and applications that may need an exception.

  2. 2

    Planning

One product, policies for clients and servers, and recipients for alerts.

  3. 3

    Implementation

Rollout in a window. The server is not rebooted as a side effect on Monday morning.

  4. 4

    Optimization

Findings and failed updates in the first weeks are followed up. Exceptions stay narrow.

  5. 5

    Ongoing care

New devices join the same console. Devices that leave are removed and not left licensed.

Frequently asked questions

Is Windows security enough on its own?

On a single current PC it is often a baseline. In a company with a server, shared files and someone who must see alerts, you need a console. We say whether the built-in tools are enough from what you run.

Does protection slow the business software?

It can. That is why named exceptions exist for the paths the vendor specifies, plus a test in a window. Switching protection off entirely is not the alternative.

Do you watch the console at night?

No. Alerts are read Monday to Friday. The software on the device keeps checking when nobody is in the office. Call +43 1 996 96 33 on business days.

What if ransomware is suspected?

Take the device off the network, check the last clean backup, then bring systems back in order. Paying a ransom is not a plan.

Does this cover Macs?

Macs in the company network are handled separately. A Windows agent does not belong on macOS. What is needed there is on the Apple page.
